Center for Learning & Innovation, SFDPH

San Francisco’s High-Impact Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) project, based within the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) Population Health Division’s Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI), draws strength from the Department’s long history of providing technical assistance (TA) and training to jurisdictions and governments, domestically and internationally.
We offer innovative, evidence-based CBA solutions that are engaging, flexible, and tailored to the cultural and linguistic context for planning, implementing and evaluating High-impact Prevention (HIP) activities.

We provide customized, peer-to-peer TA, focusing on engagement in person and online using creative and innovative technologies. Our approach includes: Peer-to-peer mentoring; site visits; templates and toolkits; online learning communities; webinars; and live chat office hours.

By increasing the knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy of our peers to implement HIP, the SFDPH aims to support the goals of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy in reducing HIV infections, decreasing HIV-associated morbidity and mortality, and eliminating health disparities.

The goal of the CBA program is to strengthen the capacity of health departments to plan, implement, and sustain high-impact HIV prevention interventions.
